Malaysia Truly Asia – Destination Marketing
JOI Communication led Tourism Malaysia’s promotional and marketing activities in the Nordic region between 2004 and 2014. Our team helped to increase brand awareness of the destination in the Nordic travel market. The total number of travelers to Malaysia from Scandinavia increased by about 25 percent during the first two years of the assignment.
Editorial publicity for Malaysia in Travel Magazine, daily press, television and radio in the Nordic countries increased the number of travelers for each year we worked with Tourism Malaysia.
During the Malaysia Truly Asia campaign, the number of travelers from Denmark, Norway and Sweden increased by 35 percent, and from Finland by as much as 90 percent. As the Danish newspaper Jyske Vestkysten wrote; ”Malaysia steps out of Thailand’s shadow.”
